The Very Powerful Yet Misunderstood Acai Berry
Have you heard all the great stuff about the Acai Berry. This very powerful yet very misunderstood berry has become an American obsession. But buyer beware. Just because a label says Acai doesn’t mean it has Acai. Lets look at the truth.
I was in a seminar last night listening on one of the foremost authorities on the Acai Berry. Pronounced (a’ sigh ee) this dark purple berry has come storming on to the nutritional scene that the Calvary coming in over the hill.
Ever since Dr. Perricone showed up on the Oprah Winfrey show in late 2004 several companies have been trying to “jump on the Acai bandwagon.” In the Perricone Promise Dr. Perricone touts the benefits of the Acai berry for the world. The truth about the berry is more complex that most people think. Just because science has proved the Acai berry to be one of the most healthy foods on earth. Doesn’t mean that what you are buying is truly that good for you. In fact is most Acai that you buy is no better for you than if you that eating store bought fruit and veggies . This is as low as 60 on the ORAC scale This is truly a tragedy. When the berry when processed correctly. It has a 1027 ORAC rating.
The ORAC scale is what measures the anti oxidant content of food. So how do you know the difference. First the berry starts to spoil after the first 24 hours after picking so it must be processed immediately after picking. This is where our discrepancy begins. There are two ways to process Acai. The first and most common is spray drying. This process requires cooking out and bleaching out the berry. This give its reconstituted juice a grape juice like look and smoothness. However their is little to no nutritional value in this.
The other process is to make Opti-Acai which is a freeze dried pulp. This flash process holds in nutrients and makes a very pulpy juice. When you have this type of juice it usually sold in a colored bottle in opposed to a clear bottle. The reason for this is the Acai has the protein profile of an egg. These proteins float around in the juice along with the amino acids and would not look very palatable on the store shelf in a clear bottle. This purple pulpy juice with green oily specs floating around in it. Is indeed one of the most healthy juices on earth. It may not look pretty but mixed with other fruits that compliment the bitter flavor. A person could easily get 13 servings of fruit a day just from 4 ounces of this juice.
The consumer does need to beware. There are so many Acai beverages on the market and some even have labels that say Acai and yet have no Acai in them. This being said. Finding products with real Acai in them can make a huge difference in your health.

Doing what it takes to Play to Win vs. Playing Not to Lose.
I wanted to touch on this and had written a wonderful post and somehow I erased it. Such as life. So we will start over and see where we will go.
As I recall I was talking about playing to win when it comes to anything you do. I was using my favorite pass time Water Polo as my example.
About two weeks ago. I was watching my daughter at the state water polo tournament. I was observing the coaches as many of them are dear friends and former opponents from when I played and coached. I was in particular watching the coaching style of her coach. The opening round game went as I figured it would. They won by a healthy margin. Took the necessary risks and made sure all of the starters got adequate rest during the game. This gave me great hope that they may actually bring home a championship.
Then game two started. This was a team we had faced and badly beaten twice earlier this season. As the game progressed I noticed something peculiar happening. The coach quit substituting players. This he had not done all year long. As the game wore on we were up four goal with a few minutes left and still no subs. Four goals is like a twenty point lead in basketball. Knowing that we had another game in under twelve hours. I was stunned that he was not going to rotate these girls out.
Game three Saturday morning. The first quarter goes well. But by the second quarter I began to see the signs of playing not to lose instead of playing to win. Our starters were wearing out. easy outside shots now fell short or right into the goalies hands. Yet the strategy never changed. Beat them down with the starters. As you may of guessed it we lost. We lost ugly. After I calmed down from the initial shock and pain for the team. I realized that the reason they had lost was a simple change of philosophy. Instead of following his usual rotation and doing what worked to gain their number one seed in the tourney. The coach instead decided to play not to lose.
In business you must do the same. Here are three good suggestions.
1. Putting off following up on a prospect. This is a simple mind trick of procrastination that almost always leads to disaster. Your prospect is HOT the first 24-48 hours. After that your odds plum it. Soon instead of following up on a sales call you are chasing them down. Or worse yet someone else got to them while you were thinking about calling them.
2. Game planing. Have a plan everyday for what is going to transpire. Don’t leave your days schedule to chance. This can be disastrous.
3. Know your goals and make sure your game plan matches them. If you are not moving forward you are moving backward. Your game plan and schedule must match what your goals are and move you toward them.
As business people we do this all of the time when we let things slide until tomorrow.

I just wanted to post real quickly today. I had the privledge to spend the day with friends at my Cousins cabin. I am also sitting here listening to Dave Sherwin from Lighthouse Marketing System. Giving another fantastic educational seminar. So I will keep this post short. Again I am just blown away that Monavie has taken charge in the Industry.

Now realize that is monthly income not anual income. These numbers are stagering. Now you say well my comp plan says you can max out to more than that. You are being fooled. To be honsest the Monavie numbers they are using are nearly six months old. The Hart’s income has increased substantaily since the last numbers came out. Oh yes and I believe if I am not mistaken. In the last year they have received over 2 million in bonuses on top of the income shown here.
The cool part of this is that it is an ongoing list. So if you have an income in MLM that would make it and your company will verify it. You can be on this list too. I did notice that since this morning my friend Orin Woodward was added to the list at number 30 he was not their earlier in the day.  As for me I am just excited to see 66 of the top 500 in Monavie.

Personal Integrity–Keep things Consistent.
I was jumping off of Hotmail today. When I landed on the MSN page and noticed this story. Donald Trump one of my all time favorites and one of the most successful personal marketers is once again in the spotlight.

This time his personal integrity is being show by Keeping things Consistent in the Miss USA Pageant which he owns.
As you may already know. Miss California USA. Carrie Prejean caused quiet a stir at the pageant when she gave her honest answer on the question of Gay marriage.
Now whether you agree with her opinion or not. The question was highly unfair to ask on any contestant. This is a beauty pageant not a Congressional election. Although the answers are probably much more honestly given by Beauty Pageant Contestents than Congressional Candidates. I find it interesting that in a country where free speech is heralded as one of it’s pillars of freedom. It is acceptable for individuals to destroy or attempt to destroy individuals who disagree with them. It took no time for pictures of Miss Prejean in various stages of what appears to be top adjustment to appear in the tabloids. These photos make sense due to the fact she is a professional model and they make adjustments to attire or “lack their of in this case” while the camera is clicking all the time.
Mr Trump realizing that this was an attempt to harm Miss Prejean due to her comments during the pageant. Has come to defend her and state that her title is her’s. Furthermore in the interview he made a not so veiled threat to those who might have more of these types of photos or wish to doctor them. That he will be watching with a really big hammer in his hand. “His Attorney’s”. If you have read any of his books you would know. Mr Trump takes great pleasure in destroying those who prey on his friend’s. Count Miss Prejean as one of those new friends.
Mr Trump once again showed his ability to take a bad situation and use it to promote himself, his product, his personal integrity, and Keep things Consistent.

Personal Marketing–Keeping up Appearences.
As I was walking down my street the other day. I began really looking at the homes in my area. I found it interesting how keeping up appearances matters so much in life.
I was pondering this in my mind when one of my favorite British Comedy’s came to mind. Keeping up Appearances is the story of Hyacinth Bucket “pronounced Bouquet,” a 30 year house wife and social climber. Hyacinth has this completely misgiving idea that she is the center of the worlds social life and works hard at irritating everyone around her. She is unaware of this and simply believes that one day she will be allowed because of her great work and arrogance. To spend time entertaining the social elites of the area.
Hyacinth however, is living under the misguided notion that people like her. No one can stand her and everyone around her wonders how her husband Richard could stand her for over 30 years.
She is the perfect example of over doing it when it comes to Keeping up Appearances. Now her brother in law is the other extreme.
Onslow is your atypical slob. Always half drunk but the life of the party and an all round good guy. He cares not what he looks like or what others are thinking about him. His home is a mess and it is easy to pass judgment on him as you pass by.
As we passed each home I realized that my mind was making snap judgments about the people who lived in these homes. On home had a really nice yard. It was clean and it looked brand new. The house next to it had old cars on the lawn and weeds growing everywhere.
Now I know both of these neighbors well. In knowing them I can tell you that the outward appearance of these homes are not a sign of those who live in the homes.
The nicer looking home belongs to an individual whom I would not be caught dead in a dark ally with. He has been nothing but trouble for several of the neighbors and the police are there all of the time.
The other home belongs to a hard working auto mechanic. Who fixes little old ladies cars in his front yard on the side. He never takes the time to mow the lawn because his family, church, and business takes all of his time.
Looking at these examples. You would say don’t judge a book by its cover. However in personal marketing appearances do matter. If you don’t look good, smell good, dress good. You won’t get what you are really after in life. Presentation is everything. Especially on the first meeting. Masters of Personal Marketing are masters at presenting themselves.
Whether or not you are on the red carpet or just hanging out with the gang. If you are going to succeed in personal marketing. You must be keeping up appearances.

Keeping your Marketing Style Simple.
I had the opportunity to spend some time with one of the top network marketers in the world last night. The title of the training was Keeping you Marketing style Simple.I know internet blogger’s are supposed to stay up all night working on their blogs and driving traffic. But ya eat to.
Keep it quick. Keep it simple
We were being trained on contacting people one on one with a product I have been very successful with for the last year so. The training was very short about 5 min really and all the questions were well what if’s. His answer was to the what if’s was. So what. I know I am being general here but he took a tecniuqe that is widely used in this business and simplified it to an under 2 min at the front door deal.
I learned years ago that your prospects really don’t want all that much info at first. So its is better to intoduce the product and get them to try it. Then get back with them at their convienence if there is interest.
Remembering there sometimes in zero, ziltch, nada interest. Keep you focus on them and your product and get out of their hair in less that 5 min. Give them samples of the product if possible and get them in front of another person they don’t know. “preferably in your upline if you are in Network Marketing”.
Keeping your Marketing Style Simple and Keeping your initial presentations short. Will give you far more success in the future.
